Welcome, fellow readers, to the tenth Hunger Games!!! We are so excited to pick up Suzanne Collins’s long-awaited new installment in the Hunger Games series! We took three entire days off of work just to prep and read!
If you’re as excited as we are, then here are a few simple steps to take before heading into the arena yet again!
Pre-Order the Book
With shipping being delayed right now, the earlier you get your pre-orders in the better. We always recommend shopping local over ordering via Amazon, and if you want to ensure you have your book the day it releases, then coordinating with your local indie book shop is essential. Give them a call and make sure they’ll have it available for pickup! You can also pre-order your digital copies and audio books now too!
Do a Re-read or Re-watch
It’s been a while since the last installment in the series came out, so if you’re feeling a little fuzzy on the details, then get together with a group of friends and plan a read-a-thon or online watch party of the first three books or movies!
Set Aside Dedicated Reading Time
Make sure you’re friends and family know that your time next Tuesday is quite literally all booked! You’ll want to read this one as quickly as possible before all the spoilers start hitting social media!
Happy reading, everyone and may the odds be ever in your favor!
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, by Suzanne Collins
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute.
The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low. Their fates are now completely intertwined – every choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favor or failure, triumph or ruin. Inside the arena, it will be a fight to the death. Outside the arena, Coriolanus starts to feel for his doomed tribute… and must weigh his need to follow the rules against his desire to survive no matter what it takes.
